Christmas & Winter
Christmas is here! As a family, we never really celebrated it with presents, but because we didn’t have the time to do presents during Sinterklaas, we moved them to Christmas. Looking forward to the next couple of days, should be fun. It also seems that it’ll be freezing quite a bit the coming week, but I don’t think I’ll be doing any skating. Every past winter, when the weather permitted it, me and my father would go skating at least once together. But unfortunately, that won’t be possible anymore. Not that I was really any good at it (I never took the time to learn how to properly go through corners, for example), but I really liked it nonetheless.
Today I finished work on a DVD I’m preparing for my family. I had to redo a large part of it because there were some bugs in the test DVD I burned. All in all it turned out pretty good, although I kept it quite simple. The DVD consists of four videos, three of them taken during family events (birthdays, Christmas) during 1997-1998. I included an extra video I encountered which I hope the ‘actors’ will somehow enjoy. I’m anxious to see people’s reactions; the videos themselves are really fun to watch but some people (myself included) might be confronted with their own behavior in these videos
I bought Planet Earth on DVD last week. I never saw the documentary series before (shame on me), and even though I’m beginning to get slightly irritated by David Attenborough’s voice, I’ve so far really enjoyed myself. The amount of time and energy spent on this series must have been enormous…
I also finished watching the reimagined Battlestar Galactica. Although it’s different from most sci-fi I’ve read and seen in the past few years, the first two seasons were very, very good. Unfortunately it’s now beginning to be a bit too floaty and ‘out there’ for my tastes, but it’s still enjoyable.

Sounds familiar, have I already seen that one?
I really like Planet Earth, the video quality and cuts are incredibly good. It shows nature in all it’s beauty, that is off course without any humans in the picture at all.
