Stickers & Snow
First snow of the year/season/winter/whatever. Not much yet, but the expectation is that there’ll a little bit more tomorrow. Nothing too exciting, but I certainly didn’t expect it to snow this early! It’s a good start, and hopefully a sign that this will be a good winter snow-wise!
I bought a new wireless access point/router for use at my parents house. With it there’s the expected install-cd, but obviously I can’t run it. I installed it just fine by hand – that’s not the problem – but there was this sticker on the router itself that said “INSERT CD FIRST”, as to make sure that even idiots can install the damn thing. Don’t know if it really matters though if you plug it in before entering the install cd, but whatever. The problem was that the sticker covered all the ports, so you couldn’t plug it in until you read and removed the sticker. But as with so many stickers, this happened:
I usually don’t mind stickers, except when this happens. Are there actually multiple types of stickers? Ones that rip right off, and ones that leave a layer behind? I tried it from multiple sides, but it just didn’t work: only the top layer came off. This is so irritating. I spend five minutes removing all the little pieces. The idiots for whom this sticker is intented will most likely forget what was on it after they’re finally done removing it.

Snow! It certainly made the world look nice this evening. Hopefully more nice scenery tomorrow morning to be witnessed from the warmth and comfort offered by the train.
