Random thoughts from this week

Irritating squeek in my bed. Even my heart beat (!) was enough to make certain panels vibrate. Turns out I had to tighten the screws. Finally fixed it now. I hope.

Lots of sounds coming from upstairs last weekend. Someone’s birthday. I remember it from last year. The guy is addicted to one single song. I’ve never heard him play another one. And just like last year, he played it like ten times on his birthday. Big party, I guess.

Another weird thing about the person living above: sometimes it’s like he’s connected his stereo to *everything*. Literally everything. Voices sound like they’re amplified, I can hear IM’s coming in on his computer, I hear a phone ringing really loud (also sounds amplified), and a bunch of other computer sounds. Weird.

Not like my hallway is any less weird. Less loud, yes. But everyone is different. I like it. The girl to the left likes incense. I smell them at least a few times a week. And the one across the hall appearantly likes lots of deoderant.

The guy next door often forgets things. This week he left his keys in the door and walked away. I had to open the door to let him in. Not that I mind, but I really wondered how he did that. He must have entered the key into the slot, and then walked away without locking the door or taking them with him? Strange.

To them I’m probably not that different. But what’s interesting is that if they want something, they come to me. I almost never catch my neighbours talking to each other. I’m obviously not always here, but whenever they need help with something they ring my doorbell. Not that I mind, I like to help people out, but I wonder why they feel comfortable asking me and not one of the others.

And finally, I started a little ‘freelance’ work for the company I did my internship at. I’m tasked with improving the CRM system that I and someone else built back then.
